Mallory, Age 8

Mallory was born with a congenital heart defect (A-V Canal defect). Mallory was pretty sick right from birth. She was admitted to DeVos Children’s Hospital many times before having open-heart surgery at just two months of age. She has since had another open-heart surgery at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in March of 2005. Mallory is currently doing well and is growing fast and strong.

Mallory is now eight years old and has two older siblings, Dustyn and Clayton. Mallory’s parents, Mark and Tammy say that she enjoys playing with friends and that she is involved with cheerleading and gymnastics. Mallory also loves playing baseball and riding her bike. As a family, they like spending time together, fishing and camping. This year will be their 6th Hope College Dance Marathon.
