The Henri and Eleonore Theil and Jacob E. and Leona M. Nyenhuis Research Center, completed in 2004, is home to the A.C. Van Raalte Institute and the Joint Archives of Holland. The center is a significant center for scholarly research and publication.

Theil-Nyenhuis Research Center contains two libraries: the institute’s specialized research library and the Heritage Collection of the Joint Archives. The library is focused on Dutch and Dutch American history.

The A.C. Van Raalte Institute has maintained an active program for translating critical documents from Dutch into English.

The center was a gift from Eleonore Goldschmidt Theil in fulfillment of a commitment made by her and her late husband, the eminent economist Dr. Henri Theil.
