- B.A., Hope College

Why I Love Hope
Paul loves the students here. He loves walking alongside them and believes that college years are some of the most formative years of a person’s life. Huge decisions regarding faith, vocation and calling, and relationships are being forged during this season of life, and he gets the wonderful privilege to help students navigate through these “tricky waters.” When Paul began his work as chaplain at Hope College in 1994, he told everyone, “I have the best job in the world.” After 20+ years in his position, he still tells everyone the same thing.
Outside The College
Paul is married to Hope College alumna Melody Meyer ’83. Their three adult children have all graduated from Hope College: Aaron, 2010; Joel, 2012; and Emily, 2013. Paul and Melody fully enjoy the benefits of being empty nesters. They love to walk, attend Hope College events and spend time with family and friends.
