Elizabeth CouncilDigital Strategist
Elizabeth Council joined the Public Affairs and Marketing team in January 2015 as Hope College’s digital strategist. Elizabeth provides the Hope community with strategies to build online engagement through social media, digital advertising and marketing, and web analytics.

Elizabeth started her journalism career as a newspaper reporter at the state capitol in Lansing before she graduated college.She served as an account manager and digital strategist for a marketing firm in Muskegon, where she planned and implemented complex digital and traditional advertising and marketing campaigns for several businesses and nonprofits throughout Michigan.
Elizabeth was also a business owner and communications consultant.
Why I love Hope
Elizabeth sees Hope as one of the friendliest places she has been. She says it’s as much of a feeling as it is a place.
Outside the college
Elizabeth serves on the board of directors for Pioneer Resources, a West Michigan nonprofit agency that offers individualized support for persons with disabilities. She also serves on the steering and marketing committees for TEDxMuskegon and is a volunteer at her daughters' school.
Elizabeth is always interested in meeting over coffee to discuss digital marketing campaigns, today's NPR news and music. Born in Northern Michigan, raised in the Lansing area and planted in Muskegon, Elizabeth is proud to call Michigan her home.
