Kathy WaterstoneOffice Manager
Kathy Waterstone ’76 has been the office manager for the Department of Music since 1999, but has worked at Hope since 1989. She supports 13 full-time faculty and 35–37 part-time faculty, depending on the semester and/or enrollment.
Her management responsibilities include coordinating all departmental events, specifically concerts, recitals, master classes and departmental convocations. She also maintains the departmental budgets and all files of scholarship and music major and minor students, keeps archival records of departmental events and meetings. She coordinates the MUS 080 course and supervises 20–25 students in a variety of student employment positions.

Before working at Hope, Kathy spent 12 years at Herman Miller Inc. in Zeeland, Michigan, as the assistant to the CFO and later moved to credit and report writing.
Why I love Hope
Kathy's roots grow deep in the soil of Hope. Not only is she a second-generation graduate, but her four siblings, three sons and two daughters-in-law are also graduates of Hope. She loves meeting and interacting with students in the music department, through campus ministries events, sporting events and alumni activities.
Outside the college
Kathy is an active Bible study leader, an avid knitter, loves to take fitness classes at MVP (kickboxing, power and ride), loves knitting by the pool after an exercise class and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, who are the light of her life.
