Martin Hill, Director.
Dr. Hill joined the Frost Center in September of 2009. He has over twenty years of applied research experience in various capacities within academic, governmental, and corporate settings. As a result, he has worked with a broad spectrum of clients, including education, health care, faith-based, for-profit and non-profit entities. Marty holds a Ph.D. in sociology with areas of concentration in applied research and evaluation and medical sociology. His office is located in Suite 220 Anderson-Werkman (100 East 8th Street). Laurie Van Ark, Assistant Director.
A Holland native, she holds a BA from Hope College and a masters degree in education administration from the University of Cincinnati. Laurie was formerly employed in central academic administration at Eastern Michigan University and Xavier University in Cincinnati. She has extensive experience in survey technology and development, data analysis, and report writing. Megan Mullins, Senior Research Associate.
Dr. Mullins holds a Ph.D. in Sociology with an emphasis in research methods and sociological theory. She has 10 years of research experience in service to both private and public sectors as professor, applied social researcher, and evaluator. She has also been a focus group moderator and consultant for several years. As Senior Research Associate, Megan supports all aspects of the Center's research, and enjoys working with the broad spectrum of people that come to the Center for their research needs.. Cathy Brooks , Research Associate.
Cathy has a B.A. in English Literature and Art History from Williams College (MA), has logged in many post-grad courses in the Social Sciences and GIS, and has worked in publishing and as an independent GIS consultant. Cathy’s excellent writing ability, GIS background, and other computer skills lend to all areas of Frost Center reports. Linda Warner, Research Associate.
After getting her BA in English from Hope College, Linda first worked for the Frost Center in 1992-93 as part of a post-bach research year in which she also worked for Hope’s Sociology and Social Work department. She studied Sociology and Demography for two years at Princeton University, where she was supported by a National Science Foundation fellowship. She has worked in both commercial and academic research positions and also as a technical writer. Linda’s office is located in Suite 220 Anderson-Werkman (100 East 8th Street). Affiliated Faculty
The Frost Center has provided financial or operational support for many faculty research projects and over the years has worked for most every office and academic department on Hope's campus. Those faculty listed below are those who have had the deepest (previous directors) or most recent (currently funded research) ties with the center.
Four previous directors of the Frost Research Center are full-time faculty in the social sciences: Roger Nemeth and Deb Sturtevant of the Department of Sociology & Social Work, and Chuck Green and Scott VanderStoep of the Psychology Department.
