Graduate of Rutgers College in 1860, 1884, and 1907; also a graduate of New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 1863. Licensed by the Classis of New Brunswick in 1863 and served as a pastor in Constantine, Michigan, from 1864-1884, and for the North Reformed Church in West Troy, New York, from 1884-1888. Professor at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan, from 1888-1917. His collection includes commentaries, financial papers, publications, sermons, and correspondence. Subjects include Prophecy, Messianic, Prophets, Hebrew poetry, FCCCA, missionary work, Western Theological Seminary and Reformed Church in America holding the Presbyterian System.

Biography
John Walter Beardslee was born on November 23, 1837, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beardslee. He was a graduate of Rutgers College in 1860 with an A.B. degree, New Brunswick Theological Seminary graduate of 1863, and received both a D.D. and L.L.D. from Rutgers College in 1884 and 1907. He was licensed by the Classis of New Brunswick in 1863 and served as a pastor in Constantine, Michigan from 1864-1884, and for the North Reformed Church in West Troy, New York from 1884-1888.
He became a professor at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan, in 1888, and remained there until 1917.
John W. Beardslee passed away New Brunswick, New Jersey, on March 31, 1921.
