First Year Seminar and the Library

All First Year Seminar students complete a "meet a librarian" assignment during the first week of classes.

Additionally, each FYS section comes to the library teaching lab, during a regularly scheduled class time, for a hands-on session on finding articles in a library database. Such concepts as how popular and scholarly publications differ from one another and how to make informed choices when scanning a list of search results will be introduced.
