Circulation Services - Hope families

Library card:

• present your library card for library service your card may be used at the Hope College libraries and Beardslee Library of Western Theological Seminary
• fill out a green Fee-Exempt Registration form at the main desk
  • you must have a Michigan address and be in 9th grade or older you must have a driver’s license or other photo ID your social security number is needed for verification and PIN number. By state law, all library information is confidential.
  • give the name and department of your family member employed at Hope

Item limit:

• you may borrow up to 50 items at a time

Loan periods

To RENEW items yourself online:

1. Go to the library home page: http://www.hope.edu/lib
2. In the navigation bar in the left column, hover over the HopeCAT link, then choose the Renew Items link
3. Follow directions there for accessing My Account
4. Or for help call 395-7905
5. Or bring the item to the circulation desk for assistance

To request a HOLD on an item that is out:

• In HopeCAT Web, click on request title before title. Follow directions online.
• or ask someone at the circulation desk.

To RECALL a needed item:

• ask someone at the circulation desk. A recall notifies the current borrower that another person needs the item
• there is a $5 fine for late return of a recalled item

Overdue fines:

• when 1 week overdue, $1 per item
• videos—$1 per day
• replacement fee of $55 is charged for each item 3 weeks overdue (when the item is returned, the replacement fee is cancelled)
• borrowing privileges are suspended when any money is owed to the library
