Guest User Services

Library card:

  • Guest Registration fee is $30 per year, with a $2 charge to replace a lost card
  • Fill out a Guest Registration form at the circulation desk
    • You must have a Michigan address and be in 9th grade or older
    • You must have a driver’s license or other government issue ID
  • Fee-exempt cards are available to certain Hope-related groups, such as Alumni
  • Present your library card for library services at Hope College Libraries and Beardslee Library

Item limit:

  • You may borrow up to 50 items at a time

Loan periods

To RENEW items yourself online:

  1. In the navigation bar in the left column, hover over the Catalogs link, then choose the HopeCAT link
  2. In the top right hand corner of the page, select My Account
  3. Follow directions there for accessing WTS and Guest Users
  4. Or for help call 395-7905
  5. Or bring the item to the circulation desk for assistance

Overdue fines:

  • Books: 1 week overdue, $1 per item
  • Media: $1 per day, $10 maximum
  • Replacement fee of $65 or more is charged for each item 3 weeks overdue (when the item is returned, the Replacement fee is credited and a $5 overdue fee is assessed)
  • Borrowing privileges are suspended when any money is owed to the library

Computers:

  • No wireless access is available to guests
  • Ask a librarian for research assistance
