Hope College was pleased to host as our keynote speaker, Dr. Ilan Stavans, who is the Lewis-Sebring Professor
in Latin American and Latino Culture at Amherst College. A native of Mexico, he received his doctorate
in Latin American Literature from Columbia University and is one of the most eminent Latino writers of our time.
He presented, "César Chávez’ Legacy in Obama's America"
