There will be an opening reception for the annual senior show at Hope College on Friday, April 9, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the gallery of the De Pree Art Center.

          The public is invited.  Admission is free.
          The exhibition, titled "Illuminations," features
  works by graduating studio art majors as well as the senior
  papers of graduating art history majors.  The exhibition
  will continue through Sunday, May 9.
          The exhibiting studio majors are Mary Belanger of
  Troy; Sarah Hendrick of Grand Haven; Erin Overmeyer of Fort
  Wayne, Ind.; Dan Patterson of Holland; Laura Sullivan of
  Manistee; Jessica Thomas of Littleton, Colo.; and Jeff
  Trytko of Mt. Morris.  Work represented in the show includes
  ceramics, painting, prints, photography, multimedia
  installation pieces and steel sculpture.  
          The art history majors are Holly Cheff of Holland;
  Jenifer Witt of Traverse City; and Emily Yedinak of Grand
  Haven.  The students will give slide presentations of their
  papers on Wednesday, April 21, at 7 p.m. in the De Pree Art
  Center's Cook Auditorium.  Topics include imagery of the
  Annunciation, the work of Caravaggio and Islamic
  Architecture.  Guests are welcome.
          The De Pree Art Center is located on Columbia
  Avenue at 12th Street.  The gallery is handicapped
  accessible, and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.
  to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
