Seven Hope College athletic teams have been honored for academic achievement during the 1998-99 school year by the faculty athletic representatives of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).
Presented for the first time, the award is presented to teams who achieve at least a 3.3 grade point average for the entire academic year. There were 32 teams from MIAA member colleges honored.
Hope teams honored, including their GPA, are:
* Women's Tennis, 3.51
* Women's Cross Country, 3.49
* Women's Swimming, 3.47
* Women's Track, 3.41
* Women's Soccer, 3.36
* Men's Cross Country, 3.35
* Volleyball, 3.32
