The Hope-Calvin men's basketball games will continue to be televised in western Michigan through the 2002/2003 season under a new agreement reached by the colleges with WGVU-TV.

The public television station is in its third year of broadcasting the storied small college rivalry. Hope-Calvin basketball games have been televised since January, 1960.

"The telecast of the Hope-Calvin games has become as much a tradition as the contests themselves," said Hope College public relations director Tom Renner.

Through the facilities of WGVU, one of the Hope-Calvin games each year is also beamed by satellite to locations throughout the United States and Canada. The January 15th game was viewed by alumni and friends of the colleges at 42 locations.

The 144th game in the rivalry will be played Wednesday, Feb. 9 at Calvin. Tipoff will be 7:30 p.m. EST.
