In a shift in the academic calendar at Hope College, the college's May, June and Summer terms have all been scheduled to run four weeks each beginning this year.

In the past, the May and June terms each ran for
three weeks, while the Summer Session ran for six.
The change allows adequate time for the teaching
of four-credit courses, a credit standard that is part of
the college's new core curriculum, according to Jon Huisken,
who is dean for academic services and registrar.  Some
individual courses are scheduled for less than the four full
  weeks as their needs require.
May Term will run Monday, May 8, through Friday,
June 2.  June Term will run Monday, June 5, through Friday,
June 30.  July Term will run Wednesday, July 5, through
  Friday, July 28.
The college's one-week "Summer Seminars" will meet
  Monday-Friday, July 31-Aug. 4.
A schedule of the courses being offered during the
May, June and July terms, as well as of the "Summer
Seminars," may be obtained at the Office of the Registrar at
Hope.  Located on the main floor of the DeWitt Center, 141
  E. 12th St., the office may be called at (616) 395-7760.
