Kids acting out? Then the Hope Summer Repertory Theatre "Act Out" workshops are right where they belong.

The professionally taught theatre workshops return for their third year to HSRT's location on Hope College. From creative dramatics to Shakespeare, to transferring that story to the stage, the workshops offer children of all ages a wide range of activities. Workshop experiences range from an introduction of acting basics to hands on work in each of the backstage areas.

Equity artists Erica Schroeder (Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and James Saba (appearing as the lead in Tartuffe, and also appearing in The Mystery of Irma Vep) are just two of the instructors lined up to offer children this unique experience.

Some of the workshops include Creative Dramatics, Super Shakespeare, Action Acting, and Broadway Song and Dance.

Most workshops run Monday through Friday and all conclude with a demonstration for family and friends. Workshops are offered over a one-month period, beginning July 10.

Workshops are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Additional workshops may be added if necessary.

Plus, this year the HSRT Theatre Guild is sponsoring scholarships available for people needing help covering the costs.
