Campaign 2000 has been busy for Sarah Sturtevant, a Hope College sophomore from West Olive.

She is one of only four college students from Michigan chosen to serve as pages during the Democratic National Convention, which will be held in Los Angeles, Calif., on Monday-Thursday, Aug. 14-17.

In mid-July, she attended the 12th Annual National Convention of the College Democrats of America, held in Washington, D.C. She is also serving on the "travel team" for Vice President Al Gore, helping to set up events for his presidential campaign, in addition to working on local campaigns. She serves as chief of staff for Democratic challenger Tim Steele, who won the August 8 primary in his bid for Michigan's 3rd Congressional District.

Sturtevant is a political science major at Hope. She is the daughter of of Dr. Deborah and Dennis Sturtevant of West Olive, and a 1999 graduate of Coopersville High School.
