A local charity and volunteers -- the
more, the better -- will come together to help improve the
playground at neighboring Lincoln Elementary School this
weekend.

The effort is being led by "Steve & Sabrina's
Kids," a non-profit organization founded by WSNX radio
morning co-hosts Sabrina Fairchild and Steve Kelly. "Steve
& Sabrina's Kids" has raised some $25,000 for the project.

The organizers are hoping that at least 100
volunteers will join the project on Saturday, Aug. 19, to
help complete the installation. The work on Saturday will
run from 9 a.m. until approximately 6 p.m. or 7 p.m.

Those interested in helping who have hand tools
such as a shovel, rake, pitch fork or even a wheel barrow
are encouraged to bring them along (the organizers suggest
labeling the tools to be able to keep track of them).

Fairchild and Kelly founded "Steve & Sabrina's
Kids" in the spring of 1998. The organization's projects
have included building a playground at Straight Elementary
in Grand Rapids in August of 1999, and organization
activities for children like a day at a horse ranch and a
trip to a pumpkin patch.
