John Daniel, professor of trumpet from Penn State University, joins Hope College's own organist, Dr. Huw Lewis, in a recital for organ and trumpet on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 8 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

John Daniel, professor of trumpet from Penn State University, joins Hope College's own organist, Dr. Huw Lewis, in a recital for organ and trumpet on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 8 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Joining Lewis and Daniel will be Rich Stoezel,
professor of trumpet at Grand Valley State University; Scott
Thornburg, professor of trumpet at Western Michigan
University; and Pamela Smitter Baker, principal trumpet in
the West Shore Symphony.

The recital will feature music by composers such
as Palestrina, Martini, Gervaise, Sammartini, Albinoni and
Persichetti.

Daniel is an associate professor of music at Penn
State and has a Specialist in Music degree from the
University of Michigan, an M.A. from the University of Iowa
and a B.M. from Ball State.

He served on the music faculty at Abilene
Christian University for 11 years. He has performed with
the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra, Abilene Philharmonic
Orchestra, San Antonio Symphony, Pennsylvania Ballet
Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera and Penn's Woods Orchestra. He
is also a member of the Brass Band of Battle Creek and a
clinician/artist for Selmer-Bach instruments.
