This year's concert will run Thursday-Saturday,
March 8-10, at the main theatre of DeWitt Center, located on
Columbia Avenue at 12th Street. Curtain time will be 8 p.m.
for all performances.

Giordano, whose work has been internationally
acclaimed, has choreographed a modern piece for the concert
to music by Orb. Her piece for the upcoming concert is
described by one her dancers as "a piece about abstract art;
we become the art."

Giordano is from Chicago, Ill. She became
associate director of Gus Giordano Jazz Chicago in 1986, and
was appointed artistic director in 1993. She is on the
faculty of the Giordano Dance Center and has toured
internationally as a guest teacher in many cities, including
Aix en Provence, France; Montreal, Canada; and throughout
Germany.

She is also on the national faculties of many
organizations, including Dance Masters of America, Dance
Educators of America, Dance Olympus, Professional Dance
Teachers of America, and Starpower.

Giordano received her dance training at Giordano
Dance Center and Southern Methodist University.

The Hope dancers to be featured in Giordano's work
include senior Kelly Buwalda of Granger, Ind.; sophomore
Mary Dunlap of Saline; senior Jodi Kurtze of Elkhart, Ind.;
senior Matthew Stehle of Pittsburgh, Pa.; senior Danny
Taylor of Story City, Iowa; and senior Danika Van Beek of
Libertyville, Ill. The understudies are freshman Timothy
Heck of Libertyville, Ill.; senior Angela Lee of Muskegon;
and sophomore Amanda Petersen of Wheeling, Ill.

Tickets for Dance 27 are available from the
theatre lobby ticket office located in the DeWitt Center,
and cost $6 for regular adult admission and $4 for senior
citizens, students, and members of the Hope faculty and
staff. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m., and can
