The Hope College music faculty will present the second concert of the 2001-02 Faculty Recital Series on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Beethoven's music opens the program, with violinist Deborah Craioveanu and pianist Mansoon Han performing the "Sonata No. 4 in A minor for Violin and Piano, Op. 23."

Classical guitarist Larry Malfroid follows with Gaspar Sanz's "Suite Espanoletas," a piece in five movements.

Violinist Mihai Craioveanu, whose playing has found international acclaim, will present a solo performance of Heinrick Wilhelm Ernst's "Variations on 'the Last Rose of Summer' for Solo Violin."

The program will close with Carl Reinecke's "'Undine' Sonata op. 167," performed by flutist Julie Sooy and pianist Jennifer Wolfe.

The series continues this fall with two more performances on Sunday, Nov. 4, and Sunday, Nov. 18, both at 4 p.m.

Nykerk Hall of Music is located between College and Columbia avenues along the former 12th Street.
