A wide range of music and instrumentation highlight the final program in the 2001-02 Hope College Faculty Recital Series on Sunday, April 7, at 4 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

A combination of piano, cello, and voice will open the show with Libby Larsen's "Beloved, Thou Has Brought Me Many Flowers." Elizabeth La Grande, mezzo-soprano, is joined by cellist Richard Piippo, and pianist Sheryl Iott Richardson.

Guitar instructors Robert Lunn and Larry Malfroid will combine efforts to play "Michigan Reflections," which was written by Lunn. The piece includes four movements, titled "Detroit," "Vespers," "Folk Song" and "Jambouree."

Deborah Craioveanu, viola, and pianist Roberta Kraft will perform Felice de'Giardini's "Solo Per Alto Viola," also known as "The Billiard Sonata."

Paul Basler's "Six Bagatelles for Horn, Bassoon and Piano," will be performed by Steven Ward, bassoon, Thom Working, horn, and Jennifer Wolfe, piano.

Rebecca VanDeWalker, flute, and Charles Aschbrenner, piano, will perform Phillipe Gaubert's "Troisieme Sonate for Flute and Piano."

The final piece consists of a quartet featuring clarinetist Kristen Ward, violinist Mihai Craioveanu, pianist Jennifer Wolfe and tenor saxophonist Ryan Janus. They will play Anton Webern's "Quartet, Op. 22."

Nykerk Hall of Music is located along the former 12th Street between College and Columbia avenues.
