Hope had two golfers compete in the NCAA Division III championships.

Sophomore Lacey Wicksall of Traverse City (TC Central HS) finished 22nd in a field of 60 golfers at the NCAA Division III women's championships in South Hadley, Mass.

Wicksall had her best round of the tournament with a 79. She finished the 72-hole competition at (91-89-85-79-344), an average of 86.0 strokes per round.

Over the course of the tournament Wicksall led all players in the number of birdies (8) and had the best average on par-three holes, finishing just one-over-par on those holes. She was one of only 10 players to break 80 on a round.

She was competing in the tournament for the second year. As a freshman in 2001 she ended 15th with an average of 78.8 strokes per round.

Senior Eric Wohlfield of Brighton (Brighton HS) finished 51st in a field of 120 players at the NCAA Division III men's championships in Lincoln, Neb.

His scores in the 72-hole tournament were 75-78-73-90--316), an average of 79.0 strokes per round.

Wohlfield was competing at the national tournament for the third time in his career. In 1999 as a freshman he was 19th (76.8 strokes per round) and in 2000 average 78.7 while finishing 65th.
