Hope freshman midfielder Tess Scholz of Portage, Mich. (Portage Northern HS) has been named to the Great Lakes All-Region women's soccer team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Named to the third team, she is just one of four freshman among 33 players honored from NCAA Division III teams at colleges in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

One of seven players from the MIAA to be named to the All-Region teams, Scholz is the first Hope honoree since 1998.

The Flying Dutch posted a 12-7-1 record, finishing second in the MIAA standings with an 11-2-1 mark.
