The Flying Dutchmen were co-champions of the MIAA with Kalamazoo, posting a 17-5-1 record and advancing to the Regional championship game of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Junior Ed Huebner of Portage, Mich.(Portage Northern HS) was named the team's most valuable offensive player while senior Tim Kelly of Kalamazoo, Mich. (Hackett HS) was honored as the most valuable defensive player.

Sophomore Todd Chappa of Portage, Mich. (Portage Northern HS) was recognized as the team's most improved player while senior Matt Margaron of Naperville, Ill. (Naperville Central HS) was chosen the most inspirational player.
