The Hope College Orchestra will perform on Wednesday, March 12, at 8 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The concert will feature the three romantic composers, Sibelius, Franck and Tchaikovsky.

The first work on the program will be "Finlandia" by Jean Sibelius, a dramatic tone poem depicting the intensity of the Finnish spirit in both the struggle to be free of Russian influences and the fierce determination to be independent.

Next, Hope faculty member pianist Mansoon Han Kim will perform the "Symphonic Variations" of Cesar Franck.

The program will close with Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 5 in e minor," a symphony in four movements depicting his complex, introspective personality.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located on College Avenue at 12th Street.
