Senior Emily Colenbrander of Holland (Holland HS) is one of ten individual golfers selected to join players from 10 teams at the national championship tournament on May 13-16 at The Golf Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake, Wisc. The tournament will consist of four 72-hole rounds.

Colenbrander's older sister, Ellen, qualified as a Hope golfer for national four consecutive years from 1997-2000, achieving All-America distinction as a sophomore and senior.

Captain of this year's team, Emily Colenbrander achieved all-conference honors in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) last fall and had an outstanding spring season gaining co-medalist honors in one tournament and shooting a collegiate career best 78 in another. In five conference outings last fall, she averaged 82.6 strokes per 18-hole round to rank fifth all-time among Hope female golfers.

Competing as teams will be five-time defending national champion Methodist, N.C., St. Lawrence, Wisc., MIAA champion Saint Mary's, Ind., Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Gustavus-Adolphus, Minn., Simpson, Iowa, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Tex. and McMurry, Tex. The other individual golfers joining Colenbrander will include Audry Mongo of Mount Holyoke, Mass., Jen Hudson of Rhodes, Tenn., Charla Speer of Franklin, Ind., Diane Imburgia of Millikin, Ill., Lisa Irons of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Gail Nelson of Illinois Wesleyan, Katie Glorvigen of St. Thomas, Minn., Kristy Schaaf of Macalester, Minn., and Theresa Ashorn of Texas Lutheran.
