Written by Kevin Henkes, "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse" tells of the adventure of Lilly, the mouse, as she brings her new purse to school to show to all her friends. Unfortunately, Lilly interrupts the class and learns that she must be polite. Families are sure to embrace the lessons of patience and friendship in this adaptation of Henkes' book by Kevin Kling.

Inspired by Aesop, James Engelhardt's version of "Androcles and the Lion" retells the story of a slave that escapes and discovers a lion with a thorn in his paw. Androcles removes the thorn and finds his own kindness rewarded in a most unusual way.
