Hope College golfer Sarah Scholten has been named an All-American Scholar for the second consecutive year by the National Golf Coaches Association.

A chemistry and psychology major at Hope, Scholten is among 297 women's collegiate golfers named an All-American Scholar for having achieved a minimum 3.50 grade point average during the 2002-03 school year.

Last fall Scholten achieved all-conference second team recognition among Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Associaiton golfers by finishing seventh in the seasonal standings. She was the tournament medalist at the Aquinas Invitational in the spring. As a senior this fall, she will be co-captain of the team.

A 2000 graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School, she is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Donald Scholten of Grand Rapids.
