Hope College will present its annual Concerto/Aria Concert on Friday, Jan. 30, at 8 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The concert is presented each January to highlight students from Hope College who have successfully passed the audition process.Organist Sara Bolkema, a senior from Flushing, will be performing "Concerto for Organ and Orchestra" by Alexandre Guilmant. Pianist Laura Ellis, a junior from Aurora, Ill., will be performing "Concerto for Piano and Orchestra" by Dmitri Kabalevsky. Violinist Jennifer Rigotti, a junior from Rudyard, will perform Henry Vieuxtemps' "Concerto in D minor for Violin and Orchestra."

Clarinetist Laura McLaughlin, a sophomore from Ann Arbor, will perform "Concert for Clarinet and Orchestra" by Carl Maria von Weber. Soprano Sarah Blankenship, a sophomore from Hoffman Estates, Ill., will sing the aria "Batti, batti, o bel Masetta" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Pianist Joe Turbessi, a junior from Nunica, performs the "Concerto for Piano and Orchestra" by Felix Mendelssohn. Saxophonist Derek Brown, a sophomore from Lakeview, performs the "Prelude, Cadence et Finale" by Alfred Descenclos.

The judges this year were retired Hope faculty members Joan Conway and Robert Ritsema, and Holland Chorale director Gary Bogle.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located on College Avenue at 12th Street.
