HOLLAND -- The traditional Meet the Dutchmen scrimmage featuring the Hope College football team will be held Saturday, Sept. 4.

The scrimmage will be held at the college's Ekdal J. Buys athletic fields which are north of Holland Municipal Stadium. The scrimmage will begin at 10 a.m. Admission is free.

With a pre-season roster of 133 players, coach Dean Kreps and his staff have been busy preparing the defending Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) champion Flying Dutchmen for the college's 95th year of gridiron action.

The Flying Dutchmen will open their season Saturday, Sept. 11 hosting first-time opponent John Carroll, Ohio for the traditional Community Day game.

The Flying Dutchmen posted a 7-4 record in 2003 and competed in the NCAA Division III playoffs. A pre-season poll of MIAA coaches and the media has pegged Hope as the team to beat.
