Much more than a concert, "In the Mood" takes a retro look at the life and time of America's "Greatest Generation"--a generation that was listening and dancing to the same kind of music. With music and dance that combined up-tempo big band rhythms to mellow intimate ballads, the mood was set to inspire a future filled with hope, promise and prosperity.

The tour allows Hope to welcome back 2002 graduate Quincy Marr. A music and theatre major, Marr filled the Knickerbocker Theatre for his senior recital, and has since become a Hope Summer Repertory Theatre favorite with his appearances in "G.I. Jive," and the company's cabaret performances at the Park Theatre. Marr is touring with the company as a singer and dancer.

Bud Forrest Entertainment began touring "In the Mood" in 1994 following an overwhelming response from a performance on the steps of the National Archives in Washington, D.C. For more than 11 years "In the Mood" has continued to impact audiences with sell-out performances everywhere, including several sell-out performances at Michigan State University's Wharton Center. Through its musical influence, it became part of the official entertainment for the World USO's 50th commemoration of the WW II events. "In the Mood" has performed and toured both in the U.S.A. and Europe and for a Presidential Inaugural Ball.

The musical features the In the Mood Singers and Dancers with the String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra with arrangements, costumes and choreography authentic for the time period.

Tickets are available at the theatre lobby box office in the DeWitt Center, and cost $16 for regular adult admission, $14 for senior citizens, and $5 for children 18 and under. The box office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be called at (616) 395-7890.
