A Hope-prepared display is part of the biennial "Tempting Tables" fundraiser in Muskegon scheduled on behalf of breast cancer awareness and research.

Martie Bultman and Tim Blackburn, catering manager at Hope, worked together to create one of 33 tables featured in the event, which opened on Wednesday, Nov. 9, and continues through Sunday, Nov. 13, at Maranatha Conference Center in Muskegon.

Bultman and Blackburn blended Hope and Japanese themes and items in creating the table, which has two place settings featuring the college's presidential china and four reflecting Japanese tradition. The table is set close to the floor, with cushions for seating.

The "Tempting Tables" event provides support for the University of Michigan's Comprehensive Cancer Center. Modeled after a similar event in the Detroit area, since it began in the 1990s the fundraiser has raised more than $150,000.

The tables feature a wide range of themes. The event also displays 16 unusual collections.

"Tempting Tables" continues on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 11-12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the door and cost $15 for regular admission and $6 for those 12 and younger.

Maranatha Conference Center is located at 4759 Lake Harbor Road in Muskegon.
