The Hope College Visiting Writers Series will feature award-winning fiction writer Robert Boswell on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
The author of five novels including "Century's Son," "Crooked Hearts" and "The Geography of Desire," he also has two story collections and one play.
Boswell has won awards and praise for his work. He is a recipient of grants from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Boswell's stories have appeared in "Esquire," "The New Yorker," "The Best American Short Stories," "O. Henry Prize Stories" and "Pushcart Prize Stories."
Novelist Charles Baxter has said, "There is no novelist in America now who writes about emotional secrets and the hoarding of private passions with more feeling and insight than Robert Boswell."
Three movies have been made from Boswell's novels, including "Crooked Hearts," a major motion picture starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, Juliette Lewis, Noah Wylie, Peter Coyote and Peter Berg.
Boswell currently teaches in the doctoral and master's programs at the University of Houston, and in the Warren Wilson Program.
