The Hope College Jazz Ensembles will perform two consecutive but different concerts on Monday and Tuesday, April 17 and 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
Both concerts will feature an array of compositions from the standard jazz repertoire as well as new and original student compositions. The ensembles are coached by the jazz faculty at Hope College.
The Monday, April 17, performance will feature the Contemporary Ensemble coached by Brian Coyle, the Vocal Jazz Workshop coached by Kristin Ward, and the Verve Ensemble coached by Mike Van Lente.
On Tuesday, April 18, there will be performances by the Mainstream Ensemble coached by Rob Hodson, the Blue Note Ensemble coached by Steve Talaga, and the Prestige Ensemble coached by the Jazz Literature and Pedagogy class.
Nykerk Hall of Music is located between College and Columbia avenues on the former 12th Street.
