The Hope College jazz ensembles will be performing on Thursday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The concert will feature three different ensembles. The evening will open with the "Mainstream Ensemble" led by faculty member Rob Hodson. The group will perform "House Party" by Herbie Nichols, "Fungii Mama" by Blue Mitchell, and "Blues by Five" by Red Garland.

The "Contemporary Ensemble" is led by faculty member Brian Coyle and will perform Tom Owens's "The Big Kid," John Scofield's "Deadzy," and Sam Adams's "Slides."

The final "Jazz Ensemble" is also headed by Coyle, and will perform "Univega" by Tom Owens, "I Should Have Known" by Bob Washut, and "Boptitude Test" by Mark Taylor.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located on College Avenue at 12th Street.
