Hope College President Dr. James E. Bultman is being featured on the "Hour of Power" television program on Sunday, Oct. 15.

In the program, recorded a week previously, Bultman is interviewed briefly by Dr. Robert A. Schuller about the college and participates in the worship service by reading a scriptural passage. The program will be shown in West Michigan at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, on WWMT TV3 of Kalamazoo.

The "Hour of Power" is a one-hour international television program which emanates from the weekly worship services at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif. Launched on one station in 1970 in Los Angeles, the "Hour of Power" is now seen throughout the United States on the Lifetime network, Trinity Broadcast Network and more than 100 broadcast stations, and has an estimated worldwide audience of 20 million weekly.

Both the Crystal Cathedral, which was founded in the 1950s, and the "Hour of Power" were established by Dr. Robert H. Schuller, who is a 1947 graduate and will deliver the sermon during the service being shown on October 15. Dr. Robert A. Schuller, his son, is also a Hope graduate, a member of the Class of 1976. The younger Schuller succeeded his father as senior pastor of the Crystal Cathedral in January of this year.

Dr. James E. Bultman has been Hope's 11th president since July 1, 1999. His emphasis as president is on assuring that Hope provides students with an exceptional educational experience in a vibrant and caring Christian environment.
