Two Hope College students and two local high school students earned first place honors in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Michigan State Chapter Auditions, held at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti on Saturday, Nov. 4.

Meghan Moore of South Bend, Ind., took first place in the College Junior Women's Division, and Katie Ross of Saint Louis Park, Minn., took first in the Sophomore College Women's Division.

Sarah Ashcroft, a senior at West Ottawa High School, took first place in the High School Girls 16-and-Over Division, and Audrey Rink, a sophomore at Holland Christian High School, took first place in the Under-16 High School Girls Division.

Each of the four winning students studies voice with Linda Dykstra, associate professor of music at Hope. All four will advance to the Regional Auditions at Ball State University, where they will compete with singers from Ontario, Canada; Indiana; and Ohio on Saturday, March 3.
