The Hope College Women's Chamber Choir will perform on Monday, Nov. 20, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The first half of the program will present sacred music, featuring two older and two contemporary pieces: "Lift Thine Eyes" from Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio "Elijah," and a piece with two flutes by Joseph Haydn's younger brother Michael; and then a pair of contrasting works by living composers, "Ave Verum Corpus" and "Sing & Dance for Joy."

The choir will also sing four works by American composers: the folksongs "Shenandoah" and "'Tis the Gift to Be Simple," the spiritual "Keep Your Lamps," and finally the choir's traditional closing, "Blessing."

The choir will be joined by pianist Lannette Zylman, percussionist Noah Livingston, and flutists Abby Bolkema and Carol Beth Steiner.

The popular close-harmony ensembles, Luminescence and Twelfth Street
Harmony, will also perform during the concert.

St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church is located on the corner of 13th Street and Maple Avenue.
