HOLLAND -- MIAA champion Hope has placed seven players on the all-conference teams, including garnering both of the league's most valuable player accolades. Senior Mike Rodgers of Saline, Mich. (Saline HS) has been voted the league's most valuable pitcher while junior shortstop Brian Baker of Holland, Mich. (West Ottawa HS) has been chosen the most valuable position player.

(Saline HS) has been voted the league's most valuable pitcher while junior shortstop Brian Baker of Holland, Mich. (West Ottawa HS) has been chosen the most valuable position player.

Joining Rodgers and Baker on the All-MIAA first team are brothers Matt and Mike VanderVelde of Grandville, Mich. (Grandville HS), Matt at first base and Mike at second for the second time in his career. Sophomore Dustin Wuis of Kalamazoo, Mich. (Comstock HS) was voted a first team pitcher for the second year in-a-row.

Hope players voted to the All-MIAA second team included senior catcher Bill Lutke of Allendale, Mich. (Unity Christian HS) and junior outfielder Matt Sattler of Brighton, Mich. (Hartland HS).

Receiving coaches' honorable mention recognition were sophomore pitcher Brian Guerriero of Clare, Mich. (Clare HS), senior outfielder Matt Van Beek of Hudsonville, Mich. (Unity Christian HS), and junior utility player/designated hitter Rich Burling of Dowagiac, Mich. (Dowagiac HS).
