HOLLAND -- Hope College has won the MIAA Commissioner's Cup for the best overall athletic performance during the 2006-07 school year. It marks the seventh consecutive year that Hope has won the honor and the 22nd time since 1980.

HOLLAND -- Hope College has won the MIAA Commissioner's Cup for the best overall athletic performance during the 2006-07 school year. It marks the seventh consecutive year that Hope has won the honor and the 22nd time since 1980.

The Commissioner's Cup is presented to the league member with the best cumulative finishes in the 18 men's and women's sports sponsored by the MIAA.

There is also a separate men's and women's all-sports award. Hope won the men's all-sports award while Calvin claimed the women's all-sports honor.

This past year Hope crowned five MIAA champions -- football, men's golf, men's soccer, men's basketball and baseball.

The Commissioner's Cup (MIAA All-Sports Award) has been presented since 1934-35. Hope has won the award a record 29 times, followed by Albion 14, Kalamazoo 13, Calvin 8 and Alma 5.
