The traditional Meet the Dutchmen scrimmage featuring the HopeCollege football team will be held Saturday, Aug. 25.

The scrimmage will be held at the college's Ekdal J. Buys athletic fields which are north of Holland Municipal Stadium.  The scrimmage will begin at 1:30 p.m.   The starting time is later than in previous years, but is necessary to allow players new to the team to participate in the college's Orientation Weekend program.  Admission is free.

With a pre-season roster of 164 players, coach Dean Kreps and his staff have been busy preparing the defending Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) champion Flying Dutchmen for the college's 98th year of gridiron action.

The Flying Dutchmen will open their season Saturday, Sept. 1 hosting first-time opponent UW-RiverFalls.  A week later (Sept 8) Hope will be home again hosting Central, Iowa for the traditional Community Day game.

Hope posted a 7-4 record in 2006.  This year's team is the pre-season MIAA favorite
