The traditional Meet the Dutchmen scrimmage featuring the Hope football team will be held Saturday, Aug. 30.

The scrimmage will be held at the college's Ekdal J. Buys athletic fields, which are north of Holland Municipal Stadium.  The scrimmage will begin at 10 a.m.  Admission is free.

With a pre-season roster of 159 players, coach Dean Kreps and his staff have been busy preparing the defending Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) champion Flying Dutchmen for the college's 99th year of gridiron action.

The Flying Dutchmen will open their season Saturday, Sept. 6 hosting Illinois Wesleyan University for the traditional Community Day game.

The Flying Dutchmen posted 6-4 record in 2007 and were MIAA co-champions with Olivet.  Coach Dean Kreps' Dutchmen have been pegged as the pre-season favorite in this year's MIAA race.
