Horse In The Sea will be performing with special guest Rob Kenagy at Hope College at the Knickerbocker Theatre on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 8 p.m.

This show will kick off the fall Hope College Concert Series and will be free for Hope College students, faculty, and staff.  Tickets for the show will cost $5 for members of the general public.

Horse In The Sea was developed as a concept project and played its first show on the eve of 2007.  The band features the songwriting of founding member Joel Janis and the production of Kyle Andrews. Tess Haskins, Joe Darnaby, Justin Ferwerda, and Ray Klemchuk round out the current Horse lineup.

The group's debut album, "I Order the Sun to Shine On Everyone," was released on Nov. 23, 2007, to a packed crowd at Schubas Tavern in Chicago, Ill.  Highlights on the album, which has been praised by critics, range from the playful summer of love shimmy of "I Can't Talk to Girls" to the moodier keyboard-driven balladry of the title track.

Rob Kenagy, a former Hope student, will be performing as a part of the Hope College Concert Series for the first time, but has often played shows at Lemonjello's as well as other venues around Holland.

Tickets for the concert are available now at the Hope College Ticket Office in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse.  The ticket office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and can be called at (616) 395-7890.  Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

The DeVos Fieldhouse is located at 222 Fairbanks Ave., between Ninth and 11th streets.  The Knickerbocker Theatre is located in downtown Holland at 86 E. Eighth St.

The doors will open at 7:30 p.m. the night of the concert.
