Multiple Hope College singers earned honors in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Michigan State Chapter Auditions, held at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Hope students earned four first-place awards and one second-place award.

° Sarah Ashcroft, a sophomore from Holland, earned first place in the Second-Year Women's Division.

° Jared Graybiel, a junior from Lebanon, Ind., earned first place in the Advanced Musical Theatre Division.

° Ross Green, a junior from Plainwell, earned first place in the Second-Year Men's Division.

° Briana Sosenheimer, a junior from Fort Wayne, Ind., earned first place in the Third-Year Women's Division.

° Katie Ross, a senior from St. Louis Park, Minn., earned second place in the Fourth-Year Women's Division.

Ashcroft, Graybiel, Green and Ross all study voice with Linda Dykstra, associate professor of music.  Sosenheimer studies voice with Dr. Margaret Kennedy-Dygas, professor of music.

All of the students will have the opportunity to compete in the Great Lakes Regional Auditions in Youngstown, Ohio, in March, competing with other student winners from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Ontario, Canada.
