The Hope College Jazz Ensembles will perform on Monday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. at Butch's Dry Dock in downtown Holland.

The Hope College Jazz Ensembles will perform on Monday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. at Butch's Dry Dock in downtown Holland.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The evening will feature four ensembles:  the Contemporary Ensemble, the Verve Ensemble, the Mainstream Ensemble and the Blue Note Ensemble.  The groups were originally to have performed on campus on Monday-Tuesday, Nov. 10-11, but their appearances were postponed due to the norovirus outbreak that prompted the college to be shut down from the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 7, through the early morning of Wednesday, Nov. 12.

The Contemporary Ensemble is comprised of Brian Coyle, coach; Michael Hobson, guitar; Zach Pedigo, bass; and Stephen Hobson, drums.  The Verve Ensemble is comprised of Tom Lockwood, coach; Katie Zigteman, tenor and flute; Lucas Johnson, tenor; Jessica Early, bass; Josh Williams, guitar; and Justin Ferens, drums.  The Mainstream Ensemble is comprised of Steve Talaga, coach; Larry Figueroa, piano; Jeff Hatcher, bass; and Ben Oegema, drums.  The Blue Note Ensemble is comprised of Mike VaLente, coach; Andrew Steiger, trombone; Travis Kingma, piano; Eric Dulmes, bass; Carter Piers, drums and percussion; and James Sa, drums and percussion.

Butch's Dry Dock is located at 44 E. Eighth St., between Central and College avenues.
