Although the band calls West Michigan home, its hometown shows are fairly rare, with the ensemble playing in Holland only about twice a year. "Holland is our favorite place to play," said AG Silver front man Jon Ornée.  "We've played in over 30 cities this fall from Massachusetts to Oregon and Alaska to Texas, but there's nothing like playing in front of a home crowd."

Before embarking on a three-month national tour which began on Wednesday, Sept. 3, the band spent much of the summer locked in the studio crafting "Love Keeps No Score," a five-song EP that is a progression from where the band left off on its full-length album from 2006, "Wake Up and Smell Reality."  This time, though, AG Silver enlisted the help of mixing guru Craig Alvin (Athlete, Eisley, Chevelle).

"We were really proud of our last album," said Ornée, "but the thing we hear again and again from fans is that the live show is so much better.  With that in mind, we tried to keep the new tunes a little more raw in an attempt to capture the energy that the listener would feel at one of our shows."

The four members of AG Silver regularly use the element of surprise to spruce up their live show.  One minute the band may be in the hushed chorus of a ballad; and the next, all four members are playing an intricate drumline-inspired percussive concoction.  AG Silver's dynamic live show helped the group win Michigan's largest Battle of the Bands in 2003 and has been captivating college students across the country for the past two years.

This fall the band has been partnering with the organization Blood: Water Mission for a "Clean Water for Africa" tour. The goal of the tour is to raise awareness about the clean water crisis in the continent of Africa and also to help raise money to dig clean water wells in communities that desperately need them.  Additional information about the initiative is available at www.agsilver.com/cleanwater.

AG Silver has HopeCollege and Holland roots that run deep.  Lead singer Jon Ornée is a 2003 Hope graduate and worked on the campus ministries staff at Hope for four years before pursuing life as a full-time touring musician in 2007.  Ornée currently lives with his wife in Holland.  The December 6 show will also feature 1999 Hope alum Josh Schicker, who has been on tour with the band all fall as the show's opener/manager.

Tickets for the December 6 show at the Park Theatre are free for Hope students with a Hope College ID and $5 for the general public, and are available at the ticket office in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse.  The ticket office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and can be called at (616) 395-7890.  Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door, which will open at 7:30 p.m.

The DeVos Fieldhouse is located at 222 Fairbanks Ave., between Ninth and 11th streets.  The Park Theatre is located on River Avenue across from CentennialPark between 10th and 11th streets.
