The IDT dance company, which is an affiliate of the department of dance at Hope College, will present its first annual repertory workshop for middle school and high school students interested in tap and jazz dance on Saturday, Jan. 17.

Rhythm Iis open to intermediate and advanced dancers who are interested in working beyond technique by learning selections from IDT's annual concert. Dancers will work in Hope College's studios with IDT choreographers, directors and dancers.

For a day, participants will live the collegiate dance experience complete with four repertory classes, lunch at the dining hall, tickets to IDT's concerts on the 16th or 17th, a workshop t-shirt and a chance to tap on-stage with the company to close the concert. All classes, performances and meals are within walking distance on the Hope campus.

Two schedules of classes are available; one that includes tap and several styles of jazz, and another for non-tappers emphasizing various styles of jazz dance. Participants may choose to attend the 8 p.m. performance on either Friday, Jan. 16, or Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Knickerbocker Theatre.  Registration for the day-long workshop is $65 per dancer.
