This year's MIAA most valuable basketball players are both from Hope College.
The league's coaches have named senior Jesse Reimink of Hudsonville (Hudsonville HS) and sophomore Carrie Snikkers of Jenison (Unity Christian HS) as the season's top players.
° Reimink becomes the third consecutive Flying Dutchmen to receive the league's MVP honors. He led the MIAA in scoring this season at 21.1 points per game. He also finished in the MIAA's top five in rebounding (fifth, 7.1 per game), field goal percentage (third, 48.6 percent), free throw percentage (second, 84.9 percent), steals (tied for second, 1.93 per game) and 3-pointers per game (tied for fifth, 1.93 per game). He is the first player in Hope basketball history to be involved in more than 100 career victories (103-19), score more than 1,000 points (1,424) and grab more than 500 rebounds (631). Sophomore guard Peter Bunn (Lansing/Lansing Christian HS) was named to the All-MIAA second team.
° Snikkers led the Flying Dutch to the MIAA championship and the conference tournament title, averaging 13.7 points per game. She also led the MIAA in field goal percentage (.526) and was second in the league in blocked shots (1.63 per game). She was joined on the All-MIAA first first by junior guard Jenny Cowen (Dexter/Dexter HS). Named to the All-MIAA second team were junior Philana Greene (Grandville/Grandville HS) and senior Courtney Knox (Mattawan/Mattawan HS).
