Hope College has again been included in the "Fiske Guide to Colleges."

Hope is among the approximately 330 of "the country's best and most interesting colleges and universities" featured in the new 2010 edition of the guide.  Hope has consistently been included in the publication through the years.

The colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada that are featured have been chosen from a pool that includes the more than 2,200 four-year colleges in the U.S.  In addition to being selective in the institutions that it features, the guide is a subjective presentation rather than a statistical one, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each institution in terms of academics, social life and overall quality of life.  Published for more than 20 years, the "Fiske Guide" is independent.  The guide accepts no consulting, advertising or other fees from colleges and has no outside relationship of colleges working on its behalf.

Author Edward B. Fiske served for 17 years as education editor of "The New York Times," during which time he realized that college-bound students and their families needed better information on which to base their educational choices.  He wrote "Fiske Guide to Colleges" to help them.
